Godzilla+Cloverfield+War of the Worlds+Transformers ÷ The Brothers Strause = Skyline You've been warned...shell out your $10.50 if you must but you have nobody to blame but yourself. This movie was formula at its very worst. This movie was the first major disappointment I've encountered in YEARS.
Due to the economic woe that is my bank account, I chose to see this movie in standard format to save the extra cash they like to charge for 3D or 3D-IMAX. I was STILL stunned by everything there was to look at. You can tell no expense was spared here. I felt like had gone to the planet myself. I was so impressed by the visuals that once I get my personal economic stimulus(i.e. my next paycheck), I plan on seeing this in 3D-IMAX. I could see myself seeing this movie about 3 times at full price and then again once it hit's the "dollar theater". Bottom Line: Stunning movie with a decent plot. Sigourney Weaver lends sci-fi "street cred" to this movie. Her role was perfect for where she is in her career. bestmovieinawhile.com/seeitnow!
I was surprised by the solid content of this film. It was substantial. This was a "down and dirty" Terminator. I loved the style and feel of the movie. You got the impression that this could actually happen. Christian Bale gave a solid performance. This is his niche and he showed why. I was thrilled with the fact that there was something for old and new Terminator fans alike. The director did a great job of mixing past and future to make an explosive present day. I was in line at 11pm on Wednesday to see the 12:01am showing of this film and I was not disappointed. This is a must see film. X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Star Trek are hard summer acts to follow but this bad boy is “in it to win it”. Enjoy!
