Kick Ass is a pretty cool movie that is funny, has cool action sequences and has a pretty decent moral to it. The only problem I had with the movie is that at times it is very realistic and other times its very cartoonish. But aside from that it is an interesting look at being a super hero. It is easily one of the most original ideas in a long while.
Excellent film, a definite staple in the Batman saga. Heath Ledger owned the role of the Joker, every scene with him took us deeper in to the mind of an accused madman who considers himself 'ahead of the curve'. The evolution of Harvey Two-Face was excellent as well as Batman's use of technology in catching criminals. Overall, this film did a very good job in balancing the wow effect of a summer blockbuster while capturing the story and narrative of people doing the best they can in an unjust world. This film was much better than Batman Begins and gives Tim Burton's Batman a run for its money. I thoroughly enjoyed this film. Some may consider it long, but the suspense and action of the film make the 2 and a half hour film more enjoyable than a 90 minute feature.
This is a great movie, though I am one of the few who actually loved Ang Lee's version. This film is more for the masses and much easier to understand. Simple and effective, very effective. As an action film fan I was very entertained, at points, the humor was kind of corny but the action sequences, Emil Blonsky's character and the crazy scientist make up for the film's shortcomings. I loved Tim Roth being the villain so much, I would love to see him return to the role. Ed Norton did well, I was pleasantly surprised with this film which is not at all to be compared to the Ang Lee film, it's totally different.
