I probably would have been more positive had not the trailers been so misleading... portraying this as a comedy and not the dark, plodding account of "despair in paradise."
A half hour longer than necessary, the film had no pace and an almost formula approach to love lost, generational ennui, selfishness, and self-absorption. The acting was very good - but academy award material it's not...except for maybe the comatose wife.

Wow - a true visual experience...makes me want to got to more 3-D movies...story line distracting...enjoyed the interaction with the planet dwellers, the technology of the 22nd Century, etc...could have centered more on that and less on the plundering...seems that the soundtrack had a few leftovers from Titanic...well acted...hope any sequels don't dwell on an "Empire Strikes Back" remake...
Yes, I recommend this movie.
