Well I guess the hype overcame the reality. I saw the first one 15 years ago, and like everyone else, was totally charmed. This time through not so much. The scary scene with all the toys on a conveyor belt headed for a furnace while amazing in 3-d, was not enchanting. Even the attempt at a neat satisfying finale fell short. I am sure it will make buckets of money -- but I wouldn't recommend it for small children. I should add that I was one of the few in the audience who did not applaud at the end, so it could just be me.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
