As inspiring and lovely as Elizabeth Gilbert's "Eat Pray Love" was to read, the movie seemed shallow and a little careless. The constant barrage of stunning glances and smiles - and the occasional tear - by Julia Roberts - cannot replace the thoughtful insights Gilbert and her companions offer in the book. It is beautifully shot though, and Roberts does a nice job with the somewhat limited script. Cautionary note: Gilbert's next book, "Committed" is uninteresting and forced, thought it's nice to know that "Phillipe" is still around!
No, I do not recommend this movie.
