After the previews, the basic storyline should be no surprise to anyone. The effects are amazing to the point that you forget that you are watching an effects picture and just enjoy the beautiful scenary.
The acting was very strong, thought several characters were somewhat 2 dimensional.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
