I was hoping that this film would be better. It really was poorly done. A couple of the performances helped but the overall premise as well as the directing execution left much to be desired. Not recommended.
Unbelievable how bad this film is. If you have seen the first one there is no need to see the second. It's exactly the same except it's mean spirited and the jokes are not funny. Someone forgot how to make a movie and resorted to the original script because they could care less. The result is that we waste a couple of hours of our life and a few bucks. Thanks a load!
The subject of law and working out the kinks with our country after the civil war could be as dry as a history lesson. This film manages to keep it's focus on what is the real story. That is what keeps us interested in what is going on. The actors did a great job with a very good script. Redford is surehanded in guiding this so that everything stays on course. It's mainly in the early courtrooms following an event that affected everyone in the war torn U.S.. I would say if you find that sort of thing interesting then you will enjoy this film. I do and I did!
I won't give anything away from this movie but I will say people could not believe the ending. There were many boos and sounds of the frustration we all had from sitting through a slow, boring and tedious film about the promise that it would go somewhere that might resemble entertainment. No such luck. This was an art house too. This one really was ripe but at least the popcorn was good.
That's about it. A very lightweight and silly love story that was not very well done. The main problem was the lack of any truthfullness or depth. A cookie cutter movie. This can be held up to demonstrate how Hollywood can take millions of dollars and produce something to eat popcorn to. It looks good on the surface but there is something about the artificial flavor underneath that ruins it.
If you get the chance to see this film don't miss it. Inarritu is one of the few great directors working today. This film is amazingly well thought out. From the details in sound, images, music, and story - with the performances to make this an all time great film. The load is placed on the capable shoulders of Bardem but the rest of the cast is incredible. I believe an award should go to not only Javier Bardem but also Maricel Álvarez, who plays his wife. She is a marvel. Go see it.
A cold film. You really never care about the characters or the story. It's an awful place they are in. The love isn't really developed and you can't understand why they even care. Not recommended. It does try but falls very flat and bores.
Why does this film exist? The people are a mess, their lives are a mess, the film looks bad and everyone is retarded. Horrible and depressing. Sorry, but why would you want to watch this catastrophe for 2 hours?
Really well done. Good script and strong acting. This film has a great cast and I disagree that it's predictable. Hollywood movie making at it's best. For those of you wondering about Mel with all the bad publicity, He is doing a great job and carries this film extremely well. Solid and recommended!
