Great movie. Good, solid adaptation of the book. Some scenes and aspects don't make it into the movie but that's to be expected. Overall, the script and direction keep the story line solid and on track. The acting is superlative; every actor does a great job of conveying the danger, stress and suspense of the story. It's so well done that you don't realize how long the movie is. I thought 2 1/2 hours was going to be excruciating but it flew by. Would absolutely recommend it, but maybe not for children under 12--it can get a little violent and scary in parts.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
