An excellent view into the competition for national recognition of young opera singers. The film not only contains many beautiful arias, but also shows the human side of the audition process. This includes a wonderful and insightful view into the supportive nature and experiences from those who have "made it" into world class opera. In addition to the music, the film itself was artfully created with sensitivity and a real eye and ear for telling the story. For anyone interested in opera, this is a must-see!

All the MET Live performances are magnificent. We not only got to see this beautiful opera at a much better vantage point than if we had been at the Met., but we also got a tour of backstage and intereviews with the lead performers, the conductor and behind the scene personnel. It's incredible what it takes to put on a production like this! La Boheme is always a wonderful experience. To see the Metroplitan Opera do it is a thrill! All we had to do was sit back and enjoy. Just a GREAT performance! And what a winning concept to broadcast live to theatres around the world.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
