Worthy Passive - Aggressive Escapism

I was very impressed with the movie and it’s certainly worthy of the rave reviews it has been receiving. I wasn’t quite prepared for the (adult) emotional punches that the movie swings. There are some dark, grim, and sad elements to the movie that pack a surprising wallop for an animated feature---some of these themes were separation, loss, missed expectations, etc.---very mature themes that kids will not detect at all because of the slapstick and comedy (personally, I like the sci fi/fantasy genre not just because of the escapism---sometimes you don’t want to think about the rat race and challenges/harsh realities of life so it was kind of brutal---lots and lots of adults shedding tears in the theatre).
Yes, I recommend this movie.
