I went into this movie with fairly low expectations, thinking it would just be a visual spectacle, but was thoroughly surprised by how good it was. Not only is it a visual feast, but you actually become emotionally connected to the characters and story. The general theme is fairly commonplace and the story is predictable, but neither really detracted from my enjoyment of the film. I think the biggest drawback was how heavy-handed they were with the film's commentary and how heavily skewed the perspective was to one side.
