Classic Story - Superbly Retold!

As I read other reviews, I noticed comments that the "plot" was "dull". HELLLLOO people!!! We all know the story already.
This new retelling of the old classic captured Mr. Carroll's original story as if WE were in the dream with Alice.
Technology allowed for the type of wild and crazy things that our minds manifest in a dream. It was superbly done.
Johnny Depp and Mia were excellent in representing their characters.
I would also leave the little kids at home.
But, my granddaughter (9) loved the "weirdness " of it, and thought is was "totally cool"!
Two final thoughts- 1) Please make more of these classics (but only be "dark" if the story truly is) in this media type, and 2) Hey Disney - you could make a fabulous ride from this movie!

Great Story-Visual Masterpiece!

For those who like epic stories and long movies, this IS the movie of the year! It is visually stuning and takes the viewer into another world. All actors are excellent and while the basic story is old as time - love, violence, control - it has new depth and dimension. Absolutely see it in 3D for an immersive experience! A classic for this new decade - welcome to the future!

Well Done Hollywood!

Our children need MORE movies like this. It teaches them kindness, values, character, history, and creativeness. Nicely done Hollywood! I didn't think you had it in you any more.
My granddaughters laughed and laughed. Plus the movie generated LOTs of conversation about what was happening during that time. From that discussion I was able to help them understand what is currently going on in our country, while they are "out of school for the summer and attending camps" (the hard times created by the home forclosure mess and the natual disasters.) Seeing Kit help made them want to help too. Thanks again! Let's see more! And by the way, if it isn't a gazillion dollar producer - think in terms of " a public service message" - our country and our children need it.

Great! Great! Great! Indy's Back!!!!

REALLY enjoyed this one! My husband and I are great fans of this series. We LOVED all of the clever clips from the previous movies that were "woven" into the story (many of them so subtle, most people will miss them - but not us!!) I can't wait to see it again! My 12 year old granddaughter was with us and she LOVED it! She loved the pace, the humor, and asked us LOTS of questions about the time period. It created a long "post movie" conversation for all of us. Fabulous use of the details from the time. Loved the sets, costumes, and acting. If all the movies could be THIS entertaining. Thank you Mr. Speilberg! You and Mr. Ford make a great team!

Great Family Movie

Great adventure! Great scenes, costumes, and believable characters! I think it could have/should have been longer. I hope the DVD is much longer. I think the editors overdid the cutting of scenes. And Prince Caspian! Wow! That guy has a GREAT future in Hollywood!
