This latest version of the ST franchise is an incredibly loving tribute to Gene Roddenberry... and, like Leonard Nimoy after his screening, I found myself in tears as the movie ended.
This film is so wonderfully seamless, so beautifully conceived, so expertly acted by all... I'm simply blown-away. It's far better than I could've either imagined or hoped.
While many don't look the same, their abilities to capture the mannerisms and spirit of their forebears - without succumbing to tacky impressions - is astounding.
It will be the singular blockbuster of the summer. Non-trekkers will enjoy it; die-hard fans will think it the ultimate homage to the original show.
In short, go see it. More than once. It's incredible.
