Purists may not like what's been done to this Mozart classic, but I was thrilled to see young children in the audience. The Julie Taymor puppets and costumes, the English lyrics and the lively pace make it very accessible to opera novices and a younger audience.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The Met HD performances are usually great, but this encore performance had no intermission and gave no warning there would be none. WIth a running time of almost 3 hours, it made the last hour unenjoyable. And then the final 10 minutes the screen went dark - sound but no picture.
The theater manager was very helpful and gave us passes for another performance, but I would have preferred the usual 5 star experience of a Met HD film.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
