I don't speak Korean, and the movie doesn't have subtitles, so be prepared to pay attention and do some guessing what the people are saying! But it might make the movie easier to follow.
The movie explores relationships of love, divorce, responsibility, friendship, and misfits. The story line is not hard to follow and understand even with the language barrier. This gives a good semblance of what the tourists and natives of Somalia , Malaysia and surrounding islands experienced when they were innundated with the tsumani three (?) years ago; the personal destruction, the physical destruction, and the recovery heroics. Thumbs up!
Good clean family fun. Range of emotions from belly laughs to tears of affection. I enjoyed it and my grandkids enjoyed it (6 and 12). Predictable, yes, but worth seeing for a feel good event. This movie will have legs.
Few musicals are produced now for some reason, but this is one worth seeing. Some sterling "Broadway Stage" type performances. Everyone that is a lead in the movie/play has their moments of glory where their character comes to life. A few laughs here and there, even a moist eye at times, and overall a timeless story. Kudos to the actors, the producers and the background people for making this a pleasurable experience. Will I see it again soon? I'm not certain right now, but it will go into my DVD collection. If you can't think of a reason to take your wife or girlfriend, then go to hear the music with a great sound system and make them happy.
