"Aliens" meets "Enemy Mine" with better effects. District 9 is a thoughtful, albeit gory, look at how our current political, sociological, and economic policies ill equip us to handle a first contact. It's an indictment of our culture, our stark inability to meet the needs of our world's current inhabitants, let alone those from another galaxy. Bravo maestro Blomkamp!
This was our first time taking our boys to the movie theatre. My 3 year old son watched every minute and laughed till he cried. My 2 year old enjoyed it, but got distracted in parts (no surprise). My husband laughed so hard he made a scene. We're going to buy this one!
