violent yet rivoting

This film has a great cast that does a wonderful job portraying their characters. i was kept on the edge of my seat not knowing what would be next and given non-stop action and story development. This is a fantasy story, which uses a real history background and takes that history to a false conclusion. i didn't mind the foreign language, in fact it was one aspect of the movie i truly admired. You get sub-titles.
It is a violet film. The story is totally untrue. Lots of coincidences played to manipulate the plot. i think Quentin got a little consumed with himself, gore and violence for its own riveting sake . This movie just isn't my cup of tea. i enjoyed the satire of Kill Bill, but this movie lacks satire and humor.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

"based on" The Half-Blood Prince by Rowling

is the most important piece of information flashed on the screen. Not only are scenes added to the movie that never happened in the book, very important differences are made in the scenes in this movie and what was written in the book. i can understand simplifications of plot to shorten the movie, one can't get everything from the book into the movie, but important character and plot developments are left out and characters are simply missing. The greatest travesty is the ending of the movie.
i will tell my friends to see the movie - it is good and entertaining, it made sense, the technical aspects are brilliant, the acting top notch and insist they read the book because otherwise they've completely missed out.

The alternative universe Original Star Trek, all your favorites are here, only the time/space has been altered and thus, everything is slightly altered, and i think it's a good thing. a fresh start to explore, grow, seek out new undiscovered territories where no man has gone before. The film gives you great tid bits of Star Trek past while pushing you forward into star Trek all new. The cast is young and vibrant. the effects are rockin'. This movie is more than worth going to the theater and doing The IMAX experience.

Go see in it on the BIG screen

They changed the circumstances of the ending in the movie from what the original graphic novel had, it still works well. The movie does as good a job of keeping the depth of the graphic novel as i think possible. i want to see it again to track what is happening in the background. The graphic novel had violence and sex. i liked that Dr. Manhattan didn't have to wear a speedo. It was tastefully handled. The music was great. i liked that some scenes were right out of the novel and used the same view angle, they held very true to the orginal format. Good job.

A Good Time Saturday Morning Matinee

It's a good story, it makes sense, let's one see more of the relationships between the main Star Wars characters. Good animation. Good sound. i would buy the DVD used. i wouldn't see it again in the theater. Young children will enjoy this movie, it isn't complicated or bloody or traumatic, simply a good entertaining time. Sometimes, that's exactly what one wants.

Family Movie not Action/Adventure

It is a good movie. No profanity. This is a Family movie, Good mild roller coaster action all the way through.
The effects are good.
I liked the costumes/wardrobe. The movie lacks intensity.The original Mummy and Mummy Returns were excellent.i was on the edge of my seat wondering if the hero would prevail and the villain would be put down.That never happened during this movie.There wasn't chemistry between Brendan Fraser and Maria Bello. Maria Bello's accent is far from British.The writing for Maria Bello's character was witless and the humor stale. I found Maria Bello's acting performance extremely poor.

If you did NOT read the book, it's good

i don't know why they added stuff not in the book. Peter would never risk the lives of his people on a fool hearted siege battle. It isn't in his nature. Which makes everything that happened during that scene not true to the story. It isn't a device to make the story shorter or more concise either. It's simply added nonsense. They also added a love interest plot which isn't in the original story. i can at least understand the entertainment value of this.
Now, if you can get past all of that, which is rather HUGE.....
i enjoyed the white witch scene because, geez, she has captivating evil persona down pat and the ironic humor ending is perfect.
The effects are very well done. The make-up and costuming is excellent. The unfolding of the story that is true to the book is entertaining. The final battle, Peter doing the one on one (wishing to save the lives of his people), then the opposing side forcing battle, great battle scene following - great scene here.
i love the portrayal of Susan. The lesson of believing in your self is well done. i think they could have found some more dialogue other than repeating the dream and reality scene dialogue almost exactly.
i love these characters and it is always great to spend time with them. Too bad they smudged Peter's characteristics, i wanted to slap and shake the person responsible severely. Peter the Magnificent, the High King deserved his title - what were YOU guys thinkin'?
One of best qualities of the Narnia series is the role model qualities of the characters. The main children characters make mistakes congruently acceptable with their nature and then learn from those mistakes. Their family and friends forgive them for their faults and accept their growth in the learning process of becoming a responsible adult.
i give it three stars for being fun entertainment to watch (if you don't know the story), great make-up and costumes, great special effects and good final battle scene.

The Forbidden Kingdom

i went with my son to see this movie. He is a Jackie Chan fan. He and i had a good time. This is an entertaining film, not a great film, not a bad film - a film to see if you just want to be entertained for just under two hours with a good story, good action/fighting sequences, and a tidy ending. i especially liked the witch, her whips, and her whip technique. i also really liked the wardrobe, makeup and hair styling.
