Wow, this movie was absolutely absurd. Anyone who isn't blindly following will find blatant plot holes, racial profiling, the same, regurgitated and tasteless jokes used over and over again, Megatron suddenly sucking and being worthless, and most of the Autobots from the first film don't even do anything. The most hilarious scene was a robot god heaven bringing Sam back to life... LOL. Michael Bay, there is a reason critics say you haven't made a decent film since The Rock - because you haven't.
As many say, this film is not for the average, "all-American" moviegoer. This theatrical endeavor is not initially pleasing to most - especially those out to see the same rhetoric that has been regurgitated time and time again. This style is, however, rather original... and the Coen Brothers drive it home.
Consider this: None of the main characters got what they wanted - something that is ultimately shared with the audience. The result is a rush of helplessness... a realistic, hopeless feeling. Not many films can do this.
Thankfully, the directors didn't buckle. If they had, we would have another tasteless, predictable crowd-pleaser on our hands.
