A dark take on Bond, but well worth the wait. So much to say, but I don't want to spoil any of the fun. Let's just say it has all the things you look for in a Bond movie. Action, beautiful women, a great sense of humor, an AMAZING villain. Add to this a little pathos and it's a sure fire hit!! 50 years old and still looking sexy, Mr. Bond.
Pros great story, great actors, great twists
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Almost as good as Battle Royale

I never read the books, so I can't be disappointed that my favorite moment was left out, that's always a problem with adapted material. This is a beautiful, superbly acted film that is a joy to watch and experience. I really enjoyed it. I do however have to mention that it is such an homage to Battle Royale, that it runs very close to being called an all out rip-off. My only problem with the picture is so much time is spent on the set up for the games and the world of the movie, that I don't really get attached or care about the other players in the game other than the two leads and Rue. This is something that could have easily been handled by cutting down in certain areas, thereby leaving time to get to know the other contestants better, making them less "cardboard" characters.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

A Trek For All Seasons

I had the pleasure of watching the movie with all ilks of fans/non fans. From those of us who grew up on the series and all it's incarnations to some who had never seen a Star Trek movie or television show. We all loved it and were ready to buy tickets to go back in and see it again (unfortunately for us, it was already sold out). The best review I can give it is, "Gene and Majel would be proud." J. J. Abrams and the stellar cast (along with everyone else who had a hand in it from script to grip) did an amazing job. This is a thinking man's Star Trek with the heart and soul of the original show. If you miss this, you will have missed something truly special.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
