I think Tyler's writing has developed over the years. The writng and the acting were very good. While the movie was pretty predictable, it was still good.. I laughed, I cried, I sang, I patted my foot and said AMEN!!
I enjoyed the movie (being a Chef means the subject was appealing)! NIce to have family viewing options without a lot of bedroom scenes and foul language!!
As usual Perry introduces very serious themes that at left underdeveloped and undealt with. While there are a few funny moments, as with most Perry films, I never leaving saying "Now that was good!" I will continue to support him, but I do not love his writing.
I took my 13 year old God-daughter on a Valentine date. We both wanted to see the movie and I thought it was cute. Pretty predictable, but a fun date. Can be a great springboard to conversations on money management, credit cards etc.
The acting was great.....the movie itself could have been on lifetime. I was dissapointed and left the theater feeling sad. I can only say thank God I did not live in that era when women had such limited choices.
The movie started with the powerful point of the "cord" which was the premise for great thought. Definitely helps shape your view of what's important in marriage.
