Pretty good Trek, not stellar

A lot of good effort in this one, great acting all around. I especially liked Zoe as Uhura, very sassy & hot, & Scotty for comic relief. Some good twists & references to Treks past, BUT the film is more heavy on slam-bang action for "today's market," with the story a little derivative & not so hefty. A couple of black-hole sized plot gaps for me, though others have accepted them in stride. I understand the desire to mix things up for this reboot, but I just wasn't as satisfied with the story in total as I was with Wrath of Khan, for me still the best written & edited of all the Trek movies.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
