The newspaper reviews I read weren't great for this movie, so I wasn't expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised. The beginning was a little too comedic for the subject, but I guess they wanted us to like the characters. Once they left the ranch, the movie started to get interesting and like movies of old, held my attention. I really ended up liking the characters and as one person said the supporting cast was really good. I learned something about Australian history and I was moved by the plight of Nala and these children. I am not that big a Kidman fan, but she is good in this - amusing when she needs to be and tough when needed. Jackman was good - but what muscles! Worth looking at.
