Sherlock Holmes delivers on splendid acting by Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law, without whom the movie would be a sequence of fight scenes that depict an interesting (if dark) English industrial aesthetic without offering much in the way of plot. There are certain qualities, such as the deconstruction of Holmes' attention to detail that are really enjoyable, but the sequel needs more brain and less brawn to entice me.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
