I doubt this would look or feel the same seeing it in any other format than IMAX 3D. However, even so, this movie was fantastic. Full of laughs, and stunning visual effects. Truly has to be the best collaboration between Tim and Johnny since Edward Scissorhands. Tim treated this movie as it should have been, and it turned out fantastic. Sound, lighting, CG, soundtrack were fantastic. Truly enjoyable. Never have I been to a movie lately were the audience disappeared and I became enraptured by the movie. Don't listen to the negative reviews, this was fantastic.
This movie was far different than the other projects Aja did--obviously--so you can't walk into the theater expecting the same violence and creepiness that you got in Hills Have Eyes. This was an artistic horror film, something that is very rare and very hard to pull off successfully. Aja could have choose a different leading star than Sutherland. Enough said this movie is no something you see in theaters. Wait until the unrated version (if there will be one) and watch it in the comfort of your living room; where you can turn it off at any time.
