I loved the breathtaking animation, the vivid imagination, the social commentary, the excitement and suspense, and I cared a lot about the characters. So many films I've seen lately, like District 9 and World's Greatest Dad, were filled with despicable characters who I didn't care about. This film had heart and humor and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Bravo!
Because this is quite a ride. I had a false expectation of what this movie would be like from the previews. It was so disturbing to me that I wish I had braced myself for the violent and tragic parts. But it was such a beautiful, touching, poignant, funny, inspirational and fascinating story that it was worth every moment of heartache. Please see this film. It will remind you of what's really important in life, and it will give you perspective on what you think your problems are. It is also told with brilliant cinematography and art direction, by a multitalented director, cast and crew. Bravo to the editor as well!
