Not the book!

I re-read the book to get ready for this movie, only to find that the story line is only about 50% true to the book. Much of the story was dropped or altered due to time constraints.
That said, it's a great movie, beautiful sets and very fast paced. Ewan McGregor is a little out of place as an Italian orphan, and he never captures the fanaticism of the character but it works.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
