I took my son and three of his friends. All boys ages 8 to 10 years. The following shares my son's take on the movie. They all thought it was action packed and totally extreme. "The best movie of our lives". As a parent I thought that the visuals were wonderful. Though the one scene where one of the characters was getting beaten made one of the boys uncomfortable w the violence and blood. I had to take him out for a short time until the racing scenes started again. Also, I felt the use of bad language was not necessary. I spoke to the boys and told that we don't approve of speaking that way. The movie kept their full attention. My son wants to see the movie again and take another friend. The reviewers got it wrong. Speed Racer is a great fun summer movie.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
