If you are looking for a movie completely different from the LOTR, you may be dissappointed. If you are looking for something exactly the same, you will also be dissappointed.
Pros well paced, great story
Cons abrupt ending.

This is definitely not one of the better entries in this series. The action and effects were good but plot-line almost non-existent. Seemed like a pointless filler movie while they work on the advertised finale.

I give this one star simply because I am always looking for a good sci-fi thriller and appreciate the effort. Unfortunately, the execution here failed at every level. Too many unexamined concepts introduced.

I pretty much came away from soul surfer with what I expected going in...just a heartwarming drama about a young lady who rose above all obstacles to achieve success. I don't give it 5 stars because the story line did not flow as well as it could have but my 15 yr old daughter and I still enjoyed it.

My two kids (17 & 14) and just returned. I had no preconceptions since this one was my kids' pick. I did note that it was fairly well received here on movietickets.com.
We were all three entertained. It was fun escapism with a decent story line and enough action to keep us hooked. I had a hard time picturing Jake Gyllenhall in this role but he pulled it off quite well. Ben Kingsley did his usual solid turn.
This movie is not for those looking for a reality flick but fills its role very well as entertaining escapist-fantasy.

I went to this movie expecting a light, romantic comedy. It delivered. Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds performed well and Betty White was a real hoot. The humor was often related to sexuality but generally not in a raunchy way which is a relief compared to many of today's movies.

I generally liked this movie but I'm a sci-fi geek. I thought the base story line was good and acting was decent. They just didn't have much material to work with. I did like gork and the insects. The orbs were a little overdone. I don't think the IMAX added much to the experience.
