Not enough time.

The epic love story of Henry and Clare is magical in the book because of the writer's use of a constantly shifting perspective from Clare to Henry throughout various important points in time in their lives. This technique is completely abandoned in the film with a bit too much time spent following Henry in his various travels. From the choppy editing, my assumption is that much of the movie is on the cutting room floor. Ironically, the biggest problem with the movie is that it doesn't create all of the magic that the book evokes - but with only 1 hr. and 48 min. to capture two lifetimes intertwined in complex love across time, perhaps it was the most we could hope for.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I feel dirty. THE HANGOVER is an in-your-face shockfest ripe with rampant F-bombs, gross out humor and seemingly random (if not distracting) Vegas celebrity exploitation (i.e. Mike Tyson, Wayne Newton and Carrot Top)... Despite its MANY flaws, THE HANGOVER is a fun hour and a half buddy movie romp that offers memorable characters and an outrageous study of a distinctly male Rite of Passage gone horribly, hysterically wrong.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
