Enjoyed this movie in IMAX environment, with my wife and preteen, and we had a great time.
The 3-D of the film is good, but not coming at you constantly with one effect after another.
The action sequences are great, as are some of the flights through the land of Oz as you really get to see the scenery and get immersed into it.
The flying baboons are going to scare the little ones, and even made my wife jump a few times as did one scene with the Wicked Witch.
All in all I was pleased with this prequel to The Wizard of Oz. I think it does the original film justice.
You cannot really compare the two, but you can see the great care that the new film director and producers took to tie in all the characters from the first film into the original.
I think you will enjoy yourself.
