I saw Super 8 during a preview Thursday night. I really enjoyed the movie as a whole. JJ did a great job as well as the actors. May be a wee bit too much for the little ones. It's a must see on the big screen!

I’m a lifelong Star Trek fan. I have seen very TV show and movie many times. This movie did the franchise a great service with this reboot. What I don’t understand is how other fans do not get the fact that the events in this movie alter the franchise timeline and it is explained very well. All the haters need to remember that and keep an open mind if they want the franchise to survive the 21st century.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
