I had been looking forward to seeing The Dark Knight since I saw the first trailer last year. To be honest, the part of the trailer that really drew me in was the small glimpse of Heath Ledger as the Joker...and this was before his tragic death...I knew, as I'm sure plenty of others did, that his performance was going to be something special. Heath Ledger steals every single scene he is in...I could not take my eyes off of him...his Joker is twisted, funny, and horrifying. Christian Bale is a strong Batman and I enjoyed his performance. I wish Maggie Gyllenhaal had been given more to do as Rachel Dawes, though. I think the fact that Rachel is Bruce Wayne's little ray of normalcy is a strong storyline that should have been a bit futher explored. That aside, I think this movie is amazing. It pulls you in from the vert start and keeps you hooked until the very end. I know I can't wait until the next Batman. Hopefully, Christopher Nolan will head that one up, too.
