Overall it is a lovely film - really showing a detailed and somewhat realistic New Orleans. There is a lot of music - kind of bored my 11 year old, but I enjoyed it The music themes about following dreams and opening a restaurant are a little above some children's heads. The Voo Doo man was very scary, (intense like Disney likes to make the bad creatures - way too intense!) but I was glad he was portayed as evil and was defeated. The characters added for fun were amusing but not laugh out loud funny. Basically I thought it was a lovely film, but my son was bored by much of it. However, they did a wonderful job of protraying Tianna and her family and the love and warmth there. A sweet experience.
