I grew up on the original Star Trek, so I had preconceived notions about the characters. This movie did the originial series justice. Though there were a few changes and a few inconsistencies (only a science geek and/or die-hard trekkie would pick them up), this movie really rocked. The characterizations were spot on, but there were also a few surprises. Kudos to all the actors. Gene & Majel Roddenberry are NOT rolling in their graves!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
