The 3D was not impressive. In fact it was distracting. I gather Burton shot in 2D and then converted to 3d using some computer techniques. It showed. If you saw Avatar you will be disappointed.
That said the story was fine and Alice and the Mad Hatter characters are well drawn.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
