This will be loved by TEEN boys who love to watch shoot-um & chase-um movies. Everyons else would be wise to take a pass!

Boring, slow, hard to follow

Yes, wonderful cast! Yes, fine acting! But...boring, very slow moving & a story line that's hard to follow. Jumps back & forth between flashbacks & present day...but very hard to decipher which is which.

U need to know history of the era, or U get completely lost. Scenes jump from one piece of history to another without clear explanation.
DiCaprio's performance is great, but little use is made of the other talents in the film, Dench & Watts.
DiCaprio & Watts' make-up is well done, but the rest look artifical...Holloween ready.

How can you have such fine actors in a film and offer them no dialog or NOT allow them to act or interact???
I will say, the photography was amazing, as was the music....and then there was little else & it went on & on!!

The best this movie offers is beautiful costuming & period scenery.
The acting by the 3 male leads is excellent, but Reese Witherspoon is wooden & unbelievable. The plot follows the book, but omits much of the depth of the book. Overall, it's entertaining, if you don't expect too much.

Very slow moving film, therefore would not recommend it unless you have the patience of the saints that are in this movie!!!

An entertaining film which is extremely unrealistic. Silly stuff happens....without the film makers intention!!
