I've been a Trek fan for years and was very apprehensive about a new Trek movie with a new cast.
Pleasantly surprised doesn't begin to describe my reaction to this movie. I intend to go back for a 2nd screening (not normal for me at today's theatre prices) just to catch the nuances I may have missed the first time through.
J.J. Abrams 'light-hearted' touch on this movie was reminiscient of the Harve Bennett Trek movies. (ie; Star Trek IV).
I will be anxiously waiting for the next installment to this series, and am hoping that Mr. Abrams will involve himself in that one too.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
