The original source material is decades old but the take on the story is fresh and very poignant. After the movie was over, I found myself reflecting back on the scenarios of each women and seeing a little bit of each one of them in my life. There are a lot of issues at hand here, and I feel that they were all presented in a very heart-wrenching matter. I can't forget a single scene. I don't think I will stop thinking about this movie for a very long time. It's the kind of film that makes black cinema something to look forward to again. I hope TPS makes more movies as fantastic as this.
The performances from the ensemble cast were just incredible. I just wish that there was more interaction rather than recitation. I also think the camera work was a little elementary; focusing one foreground character then the background, and back and forth over and over again is so redundant. Each character has such a great development but developing them into this like...six degrees of separation cast felt a little too coincidental and it's just an overdone technique IMO.
Aside from that I just love this movie.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I thought the overall direction in this movie far surpassed my expectations as well as exceeding the previous film in terms of sticking to the plot of the novel as well as taking the time to develop the characters on a more personal level. I cannot wait to see it again!
The special effects were stunning and again exceeded my expectations. I still think that the sparkling glitter effect is a little kitschy and when I imagined them "sparkling" I envisioned it more as a figurative sparkling and sort of a glowing within but not with all the twinkly sound effects. Maybe it's just me.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

i loved it. i read the books as they came out, and was really nervous about a movie adaptation. i just have to say that everything that is shot in the movie looks exactly as i imagined it while reading the books. there was a lot of stuff left out, which is understandable, but it still had the integrity of the source material.
the funny parts were funny, the sexy parts were sexy, and the creepy parts were really creepy. kristen stewart is the perfect bella and robert pattinson is THE PERFECT EDWARD.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
