quintessential californian but not Hollywood

This is one of the best films I have seen in the last 12 months. Aside from the visuals thanks to Tom Ford's eye, this film captures almost perfectly the quiet tensions of outsiders living in an "in" world on many levels. And it doesn't have your typical Hollywood ending - a good thing!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
