The technical accomplishment of this film is tremendous and groundbreaking. The world created is gorgeous and imaginative. But the story was unbelievably predictable and trite. The political and spiritual messages were bludgeons, without nuance or complexity. Standard noble savage story with standard villains, and 20th century warfare played out as always, with innocents on both sides being savagely slaughtered mindlessly. You'd think that 200 years in the future, especially in a sci-fi story, we'd get something more evolved and thoughtful. It was a restating of old history. Boring. I almost fell asleep except for the volume of the guns going off.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
