The update for Blueray as well as the addition of the missing scenes made this even better than the original release. Seeing it once again the way it is designed to be seen on the big screen with full move theater sound was amazing. All of us commented on how much better the experience was.
We all loved it. My group ranged in age from 17 to 49.

Very pretty and Entertaining

Critics reviews were mixed so I wasn't sure what to expect. I read the book but the rest of my family didn't and we all enjoyed it. 3 teens 17 to 20 and 2 40+ all thought the movie was entertaining and we were still discussing it an hour later.

Didnt need the 3D effects

I really enjoyed Avatar and saw it in 3D Imax. I am not sure that it was necessary to have the distraction of the 3D glasses and for me it made some things actually harder to see.
The story was not unique but the twist of placing it in a future world made it a new experience. If you are not a fan of fantasy or sci fi you probably would not enjoy this quite as much. The visual effects are amazing and I think would still be powerful, even without the 3D.
I would definitely recommend it.
