This movie is kinda like the animated Scrooge movie for kids. Gru is horrible to people, even children until some orphaned children come to live with him. I took my kids to see the non-3D version and we LOVED it!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I took my 10 and 15 year old to see this movie. Definitely worth watching! Toothless kinda reminded us of Stitch, the way he looks and acts. I wouldn't suggest this movie for a small child (under 6 years old). Some scenes could be a little frightening or scary.
Although I haven't read the book yet and usually read the book before watching the movie, this was a good movie. Although I feel like there wasn't much depth to the characters, the movie definitely had lots of action and comedy.
New Moon was done much better than Twilight. There was more action and more love scenes. People got to learn more about Jacob and what Bella means to him. I think the graphics used for the werewolves were a little cheesy, especially since we are in 2009 not 1990. Overall, I think the movie stuck very close to the book. The only thing missing was when Bella ripped the stereo out of her truck after Edward left her, which was the stereo Emmett bought her for her birthday. I felt like that should have been added to the movie.
I've read all the books, so I was pretty disappointed with the movie. There were too many things changed from the book to the movie. I was, however, surprised to see Stephenie Meyer in the movie. What a nice surprise! My teenage son watched the movie and has never read the books, so he liked the movie.
