I don't need to review this film. You've already seen it so many times that you wore out your original VHS tape of it and had to get a new copy.
What I will say, is that going to see this at AMC Hoffman 22 in Alexandria on 9/16/2011 introduced me to the worst movie theater audience I have ever had the displeasure of being a part of.
Multiple screaming teen girls, multiple patrons sending and receiving text messages and/or phone calls, kids running around the theater with those blinky light-up sneakers, multiple instances of tantrum throwing babies and their unimpressed parents, a guy behind us who thought we all paid $16 a ticket to listen to him recite the entire film line-by-line, a woman to my right who was wearing the World's Noisiest Jacket and didn't stop squirming through the entire film...
Honestly, I would have demanded a refund if I weren't such a weak-willed, anti-confrontational person.
Batman Begins gave me hope for this new take on the Bat-franchise, and Dark Knight put to rest my doubts that they wouldn't be able to continue to do justice to the graphic novels.
For a 2 and a half hour movie, I never once felt bored, or that the story was dragging on. I was captivated by the performances. People will be talking about Ledger's portrayal of the Joker for years to come. Fans of Frank Miller's Batman graphic novels will continue to appreciate Christopher Nolan's take on the Bat universe.
There are but a few movies I see that make me feel like I should go back to see a second time while they're still in theaters, and this is one of them.
