The movie was very true to the book, which I appreciated as a fan of the novels. I thought it was much better produced than the first movie, the special effects were good, and the characters were well-developed. I enjoyed all two hours of it and would recommend it to a (female) friend. I don't know that it would hold a man's interest, however.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
