Thinking this would be a cute picture about a wayward dog gone wild, we took our 6 year old granddaughter. There was language I would not want her to repeat. I did appreciate the theme of "mend, don't end' the relationship because of life's difficulties. It had a very strong anti-materialistic ribbon running through the whole film that speaks strongly to the next generation coming up now. It did get a little boring in spots. While a cute film, it really is a "chic flic."
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed going to this film together. It was action packed and thrilling without all the "normal" stuff that Hollywood thinks it has to have to draw crowds. I appreciated the special effects, the characters, the acting, the plot, theme. The scenery was spectacular. I would highly recommend this film to be seen in a theatre, however, we will also be purchasing it as a home movie to watch over and over. Thank you Disney for giving us a delightful film for the summer!
