To a viewer not at an age of awareness during this time period, Mandela's persona and the maelstrom that was South Africa will be lost. The film has heart and a first rate cast, but it is too slow and too cursory of the context in which the story takes place. I would recommend it as a rental.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
