Really good adaptation by Akiva Goldsman and David Keopp - omitted that which should be for cinematic purposes and left in the glory of Rome and the suspense of the core story. Photographed beautifully - well-directed by Ron Howard to wit the performances, especially liked Ewan MacGregor (hot even in clerical garb)!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
