I took my 8 year old son to see this movie in 3D and we really enjoyed it. I do not think it is necessary to see this in 3D because the color and creativity make this movie special visual and not so much the action elements. I really got a kick out of Jane Lynch whose vocal characterizations did not not dissapoint. She was over the top in her drill-sargeant fashion as usual. Wreck it Ralph himself was easy to root for in the sense that despite his size and strength he was vulnerable, sesnsitive and searching for acceptance. Many of us coudl probably relate to Wreck it Ralph as he struggles with many common character dilemmas; self-control, self-image, love and belonging. There were fun aspects in the script that were subtle but made me laught out loud-for example the Wizard of OZ soldier oreos. The art work was amazing-colorful and super creative. Go see this with your kids and enjoy!
