This was by far the worse movie we've seen in the last year. I was with three teen girls , one fell aslep, another said it was horribly boring and slow. The last thought it was OK.
The acting is lackluster, there is absolutely no chemistry between the actors. Add to that a subplot that somehow fails to matter much and all in all this movie is great to catch hours of sleep in a dark theater.

Inner beauty vs Outer

Bottom line this movie was pleasing and easy to watch. An academy award winner no but still an entertaining movie.
The premise of inner beauty being more important than outer is a good moral for the target audience and it was not wasted onthe 2 teens I was with... so that alone makes it worth while.

I agree the special effects are incredible and for that alone the movie is worthwhile watching. However the most incredible thing to me was that I believed inthe characters. I cared about the alien beings, their world everything that was happening to them. This was more than just ugly humans against gentle aliens it was the epic struggle of good vs evil... and a metaphor for our raping of our own planet for greed. EXCELLLENT MOVIE
Yes, I recommend this movie.
