Where's the soul?

The first Alvin movie was cute, and had a lot of soul. It was endearing and fun. Jason Lee added to the charm of the movie.
The "Squeakquel"... not so much. And Jason Lee must have been unavailable for most of the shooting days! He is not in it much. And because of that, the movie suffers.
The Chipmunks are cute and so are the newly added "Chipettes". Just don't expect much of a departure from the first movie. It almost feels like the same movie... just not as heartfelt.
The kids will find some of it funny... and, you can take a nice NAP while they watch!
No, I do not recommend this movie.
